Final Days of St Mary Magdalene Church

A motorcycle owned by Joff Couzens, resting against the back wall of Shopland Hall was blown over to the front roof of the house by the force of the blast!!

Further bombing resulted in more damage to the East end of the Church

The Church saw it’s final service , the baptism of one Anthony Edward Carlick of 4, Slated Row (Died 3 weeks). It was conducted by Rev Williams on 6th September 1940.
